Call to Giving
CCCSL is a christian league that is represented by over 35 different churches and currently with have 52 teams in softball, 16 teams play co-rec volleyball in the Fall and Winter leagues, 8 - 12 teams will be playing this Fall in basketball. As commisioner I oversee this league and I work with Champaign park district and Urbana park district to use their facilities so we can have the league that we enjoy and compete in. We compete every week just like park district does. What we need to show our God is what makes us different then their leagues. Just because we call ourselves a christian league and pray for 25 seconds before and after a game doesn't really make us different. Just because we say we believe in Jesus Christ and God doesn't make us better either. Even satan himself believed Jesus was the Son of God. We have to live by example. We can make a difference by not only using this league an outreach to bring people to Christ thru sports and fellowship, but also by showing the community by example. It starts with love for people as Christ did. Christ had a heart for the poor. This league is blessed by so many different people, different careers, different ages young and old.
This fundraiser that I feel has God has led me to do, is a perfect way to show our love to the poor and to show God's love. We are the vessels that God can use to demonstrate His love to them. As christians we are called to pick up our cross and follow Him. We are called to be Christ-like and what better way can we do that than by giving to a fundraiser to help the poor and needy. Places like salt and light, habitat for humanity, rape crisis center, restoration ministires, empty tomb, homeless shelter and other help core groups.

Community Responses
Through a generous response to the call to give we, as an organization, were able to make several donations to charities in our community. Please enjoy some of these responses we received as a part of this program. We thank you for your kind generosity and look forward to sharing our Christian fellowship on a more regular basis with those who would assist those in need.
